Capital Murder is an enhanced murder charge that’s specifically intended to protect employees of the state, citizens who may be unable to defend themselves, and to super-prosecute persons who are alleged to have committed murder while in the process of committing another felony and/or the killing of multiple people at once.

In the state of Texas, Capital Murder is an Enhanced 1st Degree Felony.

If convicted, the penalty for the defendant is death or life imprisonment.
