About The Author
Mark Bennett got his letter of marque from the Supreme Court of Texas in May 1995. He is famous for having no sense of humor when it comes to totalitarianism.
Well, I’ve never read any other sentencing memorandums from federal court before and I’ve certainly never written one, but if I did, that one would be my model. Succinct, direct, and brutally honest. It almost moved me to tears, but that’s probably more the result of insomnia and the late hour. No surprise that it was effective. Testimony to the power of words: our stock and trade, our ever-ready servant, and our double-edged weapon. Bravo.
