I’ve moved from Blogger to WordPress. There’s still much to do to get the blog looking the way I think it should, but at least now the “recent comments” widget works.

Oh thank God. Right choice here. Now just find a suitable theme.

I have nothing to add. I just wanted to make sure that I commented early and often. Carry on.

There are so many. Are you looking for 3-column, 2-column, magazine style?

When you log into your dashboard in WP, at the bottom there are WP feeds, whose most recent posts show up. Weblogtoolscollection features the most recently released themes.

I’ve tried out quite a few – I’ll send you an e-mail with a collection of links.

    For now, start here:

    Theme category

You’re going to need plugins too. I use a whole bunch: print, e-mail, share this, sphere, lightbox, content show/hide, FAQ, feedburner replacement, live comment preview, mylinkorder, optimal title, photo dropper (that adds a flickr module to your “write” page, so you can immediately add images), subscribe to comments, viper’s video quicktags, wordpress automatic update (must have), wp database backup (must have), wp-polls.

almost anything you want to do, you can do.

SHG, welcome aboard. Now that you’ve commented once successfully I shouldn’t have to approve your comments.

Gideon, I had already chosen my theme and loaded it up with plugins. I thought you were saying that it was unacceptable.

Plugins were one of the major attractions for me. I like pimping my blog. I’ll take a look at the ones you list.

There are so many free themes for WordPress and so many neat add ons. It’s like being a kid in a candy store. I like this theme. It’s clean and easy to read.

It’s too boxy for me and I don’t like the colors, but if you’re okay with it, that works!
