A political convention is theatre, and the clothing worn by the participants is costume. Every choice has a meaning.
I think the costume designer for Governor Palin’s speech last night:
has a really dark sense of humor:

Ah, you’re less cynical than I am.
That’s good.
She’s too tall and not nearly as cute. Plus, she doesn’t make me cry. At least not for the same reasons.
I was thinking the costume was intended to subliminally create a feeling of despair in boomer Democrats.
