Why does it cost more to hire me as the second lawyer on your case? Because the first lawyer was probably this guy:

At least he didn’t identify himself as a public defender.
No, this is pretty clearly a hired lawyer. Probably gets his business by sending out letters with vague promises of dismissal “or probation.”

Yup, me too. Most of my clients these days retain me to make everything better after some less-than-capable lawyer has dug their hole even deeper. And this caricature isn’t even as bad as those predecessors really can be. Oh the stories I could tell…
