Of course they did, you raging imbeciles. When Ms. Sherman and Ms. Zimmerman complained publicly about the humiliation you handed them when they were trying to go about their lawful business, they were not complaining that your employees (“officers”? don’t make me laugh) didn’t follow your procedures. They’re complaining that your procedures are humiliating (and—it should go without saying—unnecessary).
It’s nice that you defend your mouth-breathing employees—there should be no doubt that the rot in TSA goes all the way to the top. Employees working the line are the smallest part of the problem.
“It’s degrading. It’s like someone raped you,” Ms. Sherman said. “They didn’t know how to handle a human being.” She’s not talking about the line employees. If she were complaining about them, she’d complain to you.
But Ms. Sherman went to the media because she is complaining about you: TSA, the entire superfluous incompetent agency, from the just-hired high-school dropout to John Pistole. Ms. Sherman knows—we all know—that the agents were following your procedures, and she knows that you won’t do squat about it.
“Our officers are committed to treating every passenger with dignity and respect,” the agency said in a statement.
Laughable. You are a worthless bloated bureaucracy, and you wouldn’t know dignity and respect if you tripped over them.
“In September it eliminated pat-downs for most children under 12 because of complaints from parents.”
Wow. It took them THAT long?
I would gladly vote for Rick Perry for President if only the third agency had been the TSA. (Fortunately, it wasn’t…)
Yes. Also a half-truth. “Eliminating” most of something is not eliminating anything.
Besides, most children weren’t patted down before September.
And if those darned parents hadn’t complained about it, they’d still be patting down children.
We know who to blame when a child hijacks a 737.
Yes. A big joke. I drive as much as I can. We’ve got the appearance of safety here at the courthouse (Collin). Employees walk right in (some of which were under indictment) One day recently, the line was very long so they let the attorneys walk around the detectors. silly, but we allow it.
If you can’t think of half a dozen ways to get guns, knives, and explosives into the passenger compartment of a plane, you’re not trying. All of this security theatre is a waste of time, and all of it will fail in the face of a determined enemy.
People who have been trained can do more damage with their fingers and a ball point pen than could be done with my nail clippers and nail file. This is to train us to accept docilely any humiliation they decide to dish out at any given moment. Land of the Free and Home of the Brave? Ha. No, we are being carefully trained to be afraid and to trust no one, even our neighbors and friends. OWS is a breath of fresh air.
But as long as there’s a policy in place we’re safe.
Reminds me of the Dilbert comic when the boss informs them that the proper policy is to sit in a room with a wet towel over their head, surrounded by imbeciles.
Dilbert’s response is basically, “at least there’s a procedure.”
April 26
Hermann Göring establishes the Gestapo (Geheime Staatspolizei; Secret State Police).
Hitler meets with Bishop Wilhelm Berning of Osnabrück and Monsignor Steinmann, prelates representing the Roman Catholic Church in Germany. Hitler claims that he is only doing to the Jews what the Catholic Church has already done to them for 1600 years. He reminds the prelates that the Church has regarded the Jews as dangerous and pushed them into ghettos. Hitler suggests that his anti-Jewish actions are “doing Christianity a great service.” Bishop Berning and Monsignor Steinmann later describe the talks as “cordial and to the point.”
Was the TSA announce “cordial and to the point”? The director of the movie “Starship Trooper” says that the point of the movie was to point out that any nation at war becomes fascist …in order to pursue the goals of the war. When haven’t we been at war for the last 70-80 years?
If anyone wants to read the timeline of Germany into fascism here it is:

It’s worth a read. Ric
